The history of this original band began when singer-songwriter Laila Skovmand decided to find a way of singing underwater. Her first experiment was to sing as she dipped her mouth in a kitchen bowl filled with water.
While it was able to produce sounds, it also generated a lot of bubbles they added a 'pop' music sound. But she was determined to find a way to sing underwater, so she kept trying new things.
After much trial and error, Laila finally came up with a technique that involves holding an air bubble in the mouth and sing through it, while submerged in water. The singer must look out to the surface once a minute to breathe fresh air and start with a new bubble, but otherwise says it works.
During the concert, the five artists make they music through their handmade instruments, special microphones, and a vocal technique that allows them to sing in these conditions. They do not use any type of device that gives them oxygen, just come to the surface to breathe during power cuts each song.
